What Decemember holiday do you celebrate?

Do you celebrate more than one?
My family doesn't, but I go to a lot of different kinds of holiday parties.

Do you celebrate with your family or with friends?
Both, in the past few years I've managed to spend time with both family and friends on both Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, so I think that's gonna keep up.

Do you like the holidays?
I really love them. I love this the holiday season and late Spring the most, (although weather is best during the early fall both here and New York...though it last way longer here). I think the world is just nice and happier, or at least it feels that way to me.

Before the holiday...
When do you start listening to holiday music?
It really bothers me to listen to Holiday music before December, especially when Thanksgiving hasn't even passed, that really, really pisses me off. But once it's December I'm totally down. The only song I can safely say I would listen to all year is Santa Baby but that's just because it's Eartha Kitt.

When do you start shopping for holiday gifts?
I'm always really bad about that, but if I have something in mind I will try to get it done way ahead.

When do you start decorating for the holidays?
We actually do that pretty early, mostly all of December both of my houses are decorated.

How do you feel about stores start decorating BEFORE thanksgiving?
THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF.

How about before Halloween?
That would just be weird.

December 1st.

Do you know what Black Friday is?
Yes, Alexi wants us to go this year but I don't know if I can, we'll see.

I haven't before.

I get the best deals on ebay. BOOYAA.

Is it worth getting up early and pushing through crowds?
No, I'm really not into big crowded stores.

Traditions
What's your favorite holiday tradition?
Decorating the tree, it's always my favorite part and my families has pretty much acknowledged I'm the one whose best at it.

Does your family (or you) have any weird holiday traditions?
I don't think so, my family is pretty untraditional, not that we do a lot of untraditional stuff, we just don't do a lot of the same stuff year after year. We used to host dinner on Christmas when my parents were together, but since Dad and G got married we always have a fun Italian style dinner on Christmas Eve.

Are there any traditions you wish you had?
I would like to make some new ones, but nothing specific.

Is your family (or you) very traditional?
No, except for the whole Italian dinner thing.

If you had to get rid of one tradition, which would it be?
The only part I really don't care for is when Mike says prayer, I always just sit there with my eyes open being like 'oh murder me' or I can't stop laughing silently because it's so awkward.

If you could add one tradition, what would it be?
Didn't we pretty much do this one already? Umm, last year we went to see the Nutcracker at SF Ballet, I wouldn't mind making that traditional.

Are there any traditions that you've stopped doing as you've gotten older?
I don't do any of the Santa stuff anymore, and the Xmas day dinner.

I would definitely make the family decorate the tree, and I would love to take them to the Nutcracker, and do big family dinners.

Spend time with loved ones, and smoke a bowl if not more.

My parents give me the chicest gift, but often the ones from friends have more meaning, but some of my parent's gifts have been monumentally important.

I tend to get good presents overall, but Mom and Dad both will always through in a few things that are just like '...wtf'.

My brother or my friends.

Just one? I really couldn't say, probably some really intense antique jewelry that belonged to someone I really respect and admire.

I really don't remember, because I didn't know about 9/11 for a week because I was on Outdoor Ed and we were in Point Reyes with no connection. I really missed that whole phenomenon and it's quite bizarre.

I really don't know, we overall seem to do pretty well, I know I'm really healthy.

Yes we do, but we aren't really religious, just observe the holidays.

America; I think we've fucked up a lot lately, but we've done great things in the past and frankly I think about it and there's nowhere else I'd rather be from.

Tupac, but not just because of his music, but because he went to my high school and was tight with my drama teacher who would tell us stories about them hanging out.

Who was your favorite actor as a child? Are they still your favorite?
Drew Barrymore, she isn't my favorite but I enjoy her still.

Who was/is your favorite teacher in high school?
That's a toss up, in the English department I really enjoyed Demo, he was a trip and I had him for two years, and Miss Holland, I really respected her and learned a lot from her but she was kind of a crazy bitch too, and made almost everyone cry. She never made me cry; she liked me the most probably, or at least top 3 in a class of 28 or so. The first week of class she told my drama teacher she thought I was a genius writer. After one week. I have no idea where she got this impression. In worked to my advantage. Except my drama teacher meant he was going to make me work harder because he had proof I was capable of more. And I did, bitch. I ran those One Acts both season's single-handed and it was fucking legit, plus I was in two shows, won an award for my performance in one, am locally recognized for mine in the other, and costumed two shows and hung the entire light plot for Midsummer. I did a fuck ton. And it felt good to vent.
Back to the point, I also really liked that drama teacher, Ben, but he was also kind of a fourteen year old girl, or at least thought he was. He was great but could be a real bitch, then there was Susan who was amazing and was just high and gone half the time then would say crazy shit that was so damn funny, then could tell you straight up how it was. Of course there was also guest artists, like Bob, Sheila, and Julia. Bob was definitely my favorite; he was the best.

What do you plan on being your career when you're older, or what is your career now?
I don't quite know, I'm going to start looking at Internships next year because we have really fucking amazing hookups in Manhattan, so I may go into fashion journalism: this year alone we have awesome opportunities at GQ, Nylon, WWD, Teen Vogue, and Vanity Fair among others. I would be interested really any aspect of the fashion industry probably, and something where I got to write would also be fantastic. Or intern at an art gallery or a museum, that would be great. So anything that stems from that, but really there is so many options.

I read so much, I really enjoy the Ingenu by Voltaire, The Romance of the Forest and A Sicilian Romance by Ann Radcliffe, Cecilia by Frances Burney, and anything by George Sand. I also enjoy Plato, Rousseau, and Byron. My favorite classic is probably The Buccaneers by Edith Wharton, if that counts.

Have you ever ran until you puked or your muscles locked?
No, but I almost did the other day on the treadmill. You try 15% incline at 3.8m for an hour and five minutes.

Can you think of a time when your pants were falling down and you didn't care?
Sort of when I wear the Current/Elliot jeans I permanently borrowed from Chloe. They look cute with a little Grigioperla black peaking out.

Do you believe in God?
Okay I'm going to try to tackle this question in full for once. For a long time I have generally considered myself an atheist, but over the past few years I have felt there is a little something more out there, but for myself resonates more in nature than anything else. It is more about connection than worship, and without intention has some Shinto shadings. I also seem somewhat inclined to the idea of past lives and reincarnation, but that is based on very esoteric and personal reasons as well as results of past discourses. To say I believe all this 100% would perhaps be an overstatement, but it comes to me most naturally. If that is believing in God, then yes, but I don't think it is.

I just want him to be friendly and not scary, then I would very nicely explain to him what Earth was, then I would see what his state was and if I felt it necessary to report him to authorities then I would, but only if it was for his benefit.

I have a tattoo now, but I would like to get more.

Are hats a part of your daily outfit?
It depends, I go through fazes with hats where I wear one I really like for like 1-2 weeks solid, then wont touch it for a while, so yeah sometimes it definitely is, but I don't generally gravitate towards them. Plus, I hate really good hair and it's a shame to cover it up.

Pretty well I suppose.

Have you ever thought a movie would be better on drugs? If so, which one?
There's a ton, Marie Antoinette, Alice in Wonderland, really any Disney movies, the new release of Sleeping Beauty has amazing graphics...it's great to watch blazed. Elise and I really enjoyed that. It's beautiful.
